My Art Does Kinda Suck

Oct 24, 2013

In high school I did comics for the school newspaper. I never received criticism on my art. I got criticism on just my comics in general. Like everything about them, which I guess covers the art. The criticism outweighed the compliments but that was okay because I enjoy making comics.

I’ve never seen your art before this comic, but I’m going to assume that such criticism didn’t negatively impact your art in any way. Hell, it’s improved since you started this particular comic.

In high school I did everything with color pencils and sharpies. I think most the criticism for them was that they weren’t “rolling on the floor” funny. Most were chuckle worthy at best. I recall my senior year comics were a lot better and I even got some messages after graduation saying that they missed seeing them in the paper, which generated all the feels. As for the criticisms, high schoolers are naturally going to be extra mean about something they don’t like but honestly it just made me able to handle said criticism haha

I’ve had a few peoples compare the art of this web-comic (prior to the art update anyways) to drawings of a kindergartner hahaha

Your art is bad and you should feel bad.

By putting that you want someone to get mad at you for it, you’ve revealed your intention to be baiting someone into an argument of some sort.

If it makes you feel better, I’ll get angry over it. I mean I wouldn’t actually be angry but I can like make myself angry about something else, like Obama or something, and then have a conversation with you and it would seem as if I was angry at you.

That was actually sort of my method to ensure that no gets made at me, ever.

I have nothing worthwhile to add other than I’m laughing at this thread almost as much as I laughed at the comic.
