Eyebrows are the cherry on top of facial expressions (to me at least) it takes a lot for me to sacrifice time for homework, i’m a horrible procrastinator like that
I always hated homework…. 8 hours of school just to go home and do 6 hours of homework…and I grew up on a farm…I had animals to take care of….in MICHIGAN…7 months outta the year it’s dark by 5:30 PM….6 at the latest…and I didn’t get home until 4:30…by the time I got my chores done it was 7:30…get a shower to wash away the animals and then get something for dinner it’s 8:30 – 9 PM depending on whether or not I had to cook…..then I have to sit down and for the next 6 hours I have to do make a crossword puzzle for Geography, do 50 trigonometry equations for Algebra, Write a 3 page short story for Composition and Creative Writing, read 3 chapters of a book that I’m pretty sure actually made me dumber for English, Make an accurate to scale model of DNA for Biology, and Write up a “quick & simple” tick tack toe program for Computer Programming and on top of that having to catch up on my artwork since it’s due last Tuesday and this is Thursday because I’ve been playing catch up on my homework in Art Class all week…….I often wondered whether the teachers were just vindictive or to lazy/stupid to ask around and realize they’re all assigning an hours worth of homework….by the time it was done it was well after midnight and I was more passing out from exhaustion then anything else as I think “Computer Programming isn’t even supposed to be an academic course….”…..hated homework
Sounds about right. Me being on a farm, I felt the same much of the time. For the most part, I never even left class understanding the lecture enough to be expected to finish the homework without needing help. I did most my homework before class getting help from classmates who did understand it haha
well the right after high school I went and joined the Navy and again was usually only getting maybe 4-5 hours of sleep because of the long work days so now that I’ve moved past high school and am outta the military I’m so used to only getting 4-5 hours of sleep that I can’t seem to get much more then that
for real Mrs. Rich is the villain in this panel and not the kids laughing at her. It’s a poignant metaphor for the way school forces kids to sacrifice their actual interests and then acts as if it’s doing them a favor
Schools teach this “be yourself, be unique, do what you love doing” dogma while simultaneously forcing children to all learn the exact same stuff in the exact same way at the exact same time.
Sacrifice games for homework? why don’t you just cut my hands off then?!
(Also, I kinda like the new eyebrows!)
But you need that there edu-mah-cation! No time for fun.
I can get all the edumacation when I’m dead!
