Filler Art: Eternal Struggle

Apr 21, 2013

Went on vacation this weekend. Family trip to the coast. I did this sketch however and gave it a digital make-over the moment I got home today.

Haven’t unleashed Battle T-Rex for a while. I’ve been wanting to do another “Tony and Battle T-Rex have at it in the background while Austin rambles about Halo” comic for a while actually. I’ve only done two and they were both in the early half of my first year of comics. I want it to be a semi-regular thing. One, because half robot dinosaurs are awesome, and two, I get to ramble about Halo. It’s a win for everyone.

I guess we’ll see another one of those when I’m used to doing the updated art (I am now, but I mean MORE use to it) and am bold enough to attempt illustrating another epic battle.

Hey Austin, just a fan. You should be more creative with your panel lay out. The simple grid format is kinda boring to look at. For a good example of how you can get creative with the paneling, without disrupting flow, is some of the Calvin and Hobbes Strips. Just A something that I think would make your comic even better.

I actually intend to eventually get creative with the layout when I get to some bigger story lines, but as of now I’m just kinda rolling with the Questionable Content layout until I get as good at the updated art style as I was with the art before the update haha
