Tangled
Kingdom Hearts was reannounced at E3 this year. I say reannounced because they decided to change engines sometimes between now and the last announcement, so this year’s announcement really only brought us the same news as last time, which was “Now in Development”.
But we were at least given some news such as one of the worlds visited. Tangled will be fun. Rapunzel as a party character could have healing abilities to lend to Sora, plus she has the mightiest weapon ever known to man: The Frying Pan.
As long as the Tangled world’s boss fight, if against Mother Gothel, doesn’t end with you pushing her out of a window to her grisly off-screen death…
One of the worlds also shown in the trailer was Olympus, so, Hercules is back, meaning we’re getting some more of the glorious James Woods as a main bad guy. Calling it now – the plot will be Hades is trying to permanently kill Herc and Sora, and the boss fight will start with him being immortal until Herc intervenes.
I’m pegging some of the other footage as being Land of the Dragons, and I will fronking riot if they include Mulan again and follow the plot of that awful direct-to-VHS sequel. Mulan is a badass and deserves better.
At the end of the day, though, I know I’m ultimately going to be disappointed, because it is now within their power and legal property ownership to have a Xemnas versus Ultron versus Sephiroth versus Darth Vader battle royal in the game, and that’s not going to happen.
