Spartan Strike
Just a reminder on what happened LAST TIME Austin got a cell phone, and what that meant for the Spartan men and women at 343 Industries.
I’m ever so crudely trying to be topical while also continuing the story line. Maybe I’ll get better at it with more practice. Also, yay Tori. The set up of the story arc (Austin and Bryan training while Miranda gets her app) was very focused on just a few characters, so now we’ll get to actually see everyone else since the launch of Art Update 2.0.
And yeah another Halo top-down was announced. The story line ties into Halo 2 and branches into the timeline before Halo 5, as 343 tends to use their various media to cross promote and whatnot. I like when they do that. I imagine its annoying for the casual Halo fans who don’t read the books or comics, particularly with stuff like why the Covenant was still around in Halo 4. Sure I knew why the Covenant was still around in Halo 4. But Joe Doesn’t-Read-Halo-Books down the street, he’s got no clue what’s going on. Or why I’m in his house stealing toilet paper. But yeah as a much heavier follower of the series, I find immersing in the various Halo media and enjoying those connections to be quite rewarding.
And Joe I’m-Rich-And-Buy-Toilet-Paper-From-The-Same-Place-God-Shops, well [FRONK] that guy and his expensive yet heavenly soothing toilet paper rolls.

Bryan’s been like a ferb lately with little talking and more action, i kinda like that show don’t tell is what they say to do in this kind of media =]. And nooo Tori don’t let your inner thoughts be exposed to the world =O or miranda i guess (just as bad)
Yeah, which actually reminds me of a book I read. Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. Look it up, buy it, read it. And read it again. And again. It’s pretty enlightening haha
Oh i know of Scott McCloud’s work! But that book might be something to definitely look into =D
My complete knowledge of Halo Lore:
The main character is a Spartan called Master Chief. (Learned from being on the internet.)
Master Chief’s actual name is John and his number is 117. (Learned from reading Austin’s Inferno.)
Spartans were abducted by the military as children and replaced with clones designed to die of natural causes within a few months. (What I vaguely remember from reading the first few chapters of a Halo novel some years ago)
There was a guy named Keyes who if you shot, all of the humans would start killing you instead of the aliens. (What I vaguely remember from the one time somebody tried to get me to play Halo’s story mode.)
Other than that, I’m somewhat aware of what the Covenant and the Flood are as antagonistic groups to the Spartans, but I really have no idea what they are beyond ‘the things Master Chief shoots at”, & that plasma grenades are the shit in multiplayer.
Austin’s Inferno taught someone something about Halo.
I could end the series now and say I’ve accomplished great things.
You can’t quit until the day I actually purchase a Halo game.
(Which is, to say, probably not for a long time.)
wrapping up all the story arcs would probably be a good idea as well, before quitting and spending the rest of my days eating cheesy turds in the dark
Damn, never thought Bryan would try picking a fight with Spartans!
You’d think 343 Industries would give themselves stronger Spartan armor.
Even so, Bryan’s got some big ones to go against them without an arsenal ready
(Remind me not to mess with him)
