The George Awakens

Apr 21, 2016

If I’m being totally honest, I don’t really care that much about most of Lucas’s alterations. Most were cosmetic anyways. The only thing I will never be okay with is the Han / Greedo controversy. The reasoning behind it is so backwards and insane, and its like Lucas brings it up and makes the excuse for it just to get attention haha

I mean, I would not consider Han a “bad guy” for shooting Greedo cold blood. Look who Greedo is. A slimy criminal POS who made a living murdering other people, many of whom I’m sure were innocent of any real wrong doing and only made the mistake of living on the same planet as Jabba the Hutt and refusing to be bullied by him. You’re going to tell me Han is a bad guy for killing such a person? Even in cold blood? No. In fact that only made him more badass.

The only head canon I can accept that makes that whole thing tolerable is the theory that Han Solo was actually force sensitive all along and this allowed Han the reflexes to dodge a blaster bolt, and he just blissfully assumed this was a normal thing.

Well, Han’s not actually killed off. They’ll have some bullshit excuse in the next movie to bring him back. “Oh, a second renegade Stormtrooper caught him, applied a medical procedure and then evacuated the planet. He’s part Mail now but otherwise fine”

He just fell into Star Wars limbo. If you die but fall down a chasm, you’re just teleported to a plain where you wait for someone to bring you back to life in a book or animated series or something. Other characters to spend time here was the Emperor, Darth Maul, Boba Fett…

I actually don’t think that Kylo Ren killed Han…I think Han himself ignited the light saber thereby killing himself so that Kylo Ren couldn’t making it so that Kylo Ren could never go all the way to the dark side and is thus redeemable and able to go home completing Han’s promise to Leia that he would get there son home. I also don’t think Han had any intention of ever leaving Starkiller Base knowing what eh would have to do and sacrifice to save his son and bring him home.

Agreed. Han knew what was going to happen the moment he saw Jacen- sorry, I mean Kylo (^-^) on that bridge. He sacrificed himself with his son’s ‘acient weapon’ so he wouldn’t turn to the dark side of his ‘hokey religion’.

I like the theory but I think in the novelizations, the decision to kill Han was his own ._.

except when watching the film Han’s gripping the middle at the ignition switch while Kylo has the ends they pause a moment holding it parallel to each other and then the lightsaber ignites and it’s suddenly pointed at Han and Kylo looks surprised a moment before starting to cry and thanking his father as he falls into the chasm
