Taco Nuggets

May 17, 2015

It sucks when customers pay this way because every order, the moment the first item is punched in, gets a timer and when the timer goes over a certain amount of seconds, someone in upper management gets upset about it. So they get mad at lower management, and then lower management gets mad at the crew. Because with all the calculations and factoring, it never occurs to the people running the show that sometimes customers are assholes who take forever to do something as simple as having the money for their order ready.

But customers are always right. And management is always right. Meaning the crew is always wrong, even when they’re the only ones who are right.

Needless to say working in fast food sucks ass haha

people after working retail are always like Dr Cox “People are bastards! Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling.”…..and after working retail the people who have experienced dealing with actual customers who wouldn’t know the difference between a pizza and a hubcap and yet managed to escape it are more like stand up comedian Christopher Titus, “I know who I am. I’m a very thin layer of charming with some funny sprinkles and a huge creamy center of raging arrogant asshole. I got it”

Haven’t worked at ALL the fast food places, but I’ve my share of experience with ’em. The one I’m working at now, the corporate office gives us contradictory (or straight-up impossible) demands. Our sales goals for different menu items add up to 117% right now. On Sundays, we’re supposed to have a minimum of three people in the store from 11am to 11pm but we’re only supposed to pay for 15 hours of labor. We’re supposed to empty the trash last thing before we leave for the night, but we’re not allowed to walk to the dumpster after dark. My favorite, they just told us that we’re no longer allowed to say the word “no” to a customer, and in the same email told us to start denying customers time-consuming special orders.

So, basically, it doesn’t matter what the hell we do, they yell at us for doing it wrong. For the lulz, I guess.

(BUT we still at least are allowed the right to refuse service to someone, one of the allowed reasons being if they consistently and purposely slow service (by doing things like paying in pennies.).)

sounds bad mayne =O. i work as a cookie elf(literally make keebler elf cookies) in a factory so we don’t deal with customers like that, though our upper manager is much like this. he asks for ways that we can make the work easier, but refuses to hear anyone under the impression of it being rumours, or he just doesn’t understand what we say. i’ve gotten saucy with the man over this but he still does not seem to get it

Yeah the contradictory thing happens constantly. My theory was they want their employees to make mistakes so that they can justify paying them dirt cheap wages.

We got an email from our corporate office today that our employee workforce (company-wide, not just our store) has shrunk by ~54% in the last two weeks. With memorial weekend nigh, running a restaurant chain half-staff is, well, a problem. They seem to think the cause has something to do with ‘not enough trust between co-workers’ and ‘poor hiring decisions by in-store management’ and not ‘we cut almost everyone who makes above minimum wage down to minimum wage’ or ‘our new labor policies cut everyone’s hours whilst doubling their workload’.

I’m half convinced that my company is trying to get out of their management contract with this fast-food chain.

there’s always going to be a disconnect between the store level and he corporate level…when you get up the corporate latter eventually you look down and all you see is numbers

meanwhile on the store level to save money they slash pay and hours across he board and they don’t notice how many people are quitting until it effects their bottom line and for the people who are supposed to be smart enough to run the company…they’re awful stupid about how to motivate and keep a steady workforce

A “Pizza Taco” doesn’t sound too bad, but “Taco Nuggets” sound like some sort of unholy amalgam one might write & illustrate a pseudo-monster-movie about. Possibly with a mad scientist origin story.

I imagine taco nuggets are mixture of battered ground beef, beans, taco seasoning, and cheese that have been deep fried….that actually sounds kinda good

I was thinking something similar but with a seasoned cornmeal crust instead of batter. Slightly more authentic that way
