The Mushroom Kingdom is canonically on an entirely different planet from Earth called Mushroom Planet. Bowser’s resemblance to a turtle, dragon, and dinosaur is a result of convergent evolution. While many people are against the long held idea that Mario and Luigi are Italian Americans from Brooklyn, NY, I personally believe that humans and all Earth-like plants are invasive species brought to Mushroom Planet by some ancient space-faring civilization, possibly whatever planet Rosalina is originally from. I don’t really care for Game Theories (the youtube channel) so I don’t actually know how close or distant any of this may be to his ideas (and frankly don’t care). I actually have a pretty complex multiple worlds headcanon for the Mario franchise as a whole that I won’t go too much into, but suffice it to say that I think the ending of Galaxy was like the Scratch from Homestuck, causing ALL events in the series to reoccur in a slightly altered manner, explaining the plot differences between Mario 64 and 64 DS among many other things.
I know right! Wondercon bound!
AHHHH it was so fun.
